1. The optically inactive alkaloids are represented by caffeine due to lacking of chiral carbons
2. The least basic alkaloid is caffeine as its nitrogen atoms are bonded to sp2 carbons and thus their lone pairs of elctrons are partuially delocalized
3.Reserpine is the unstable alkaloid under strong alkaline pH since it possesses two ester groups which are easy hydrolyzable
4. The water soluble alkaloids are caffeine and d-tubocurarine as caffeine has polarity-inducing four sp2 nitrogens and two ketonic oxygens while d-tubocurarine has an ionized quaternary ammonium group
5. The liquid alkaloids are nicotine and coniine due to their relative smaller MWt and absence of bonding-inducing oxygen atoms.
